Our Story

We at KOS are a team with business, scientific, medical expertise that are committed to a healthcare ecosystem that drives health into our homes and all of the daily activities we love so much – to engage each and every one of us in our health and wellness:

  • Driving health homeward, while
  • Improving personal health and wellness at a lower cost and higher quality.

it’s about all of us making the best choices and decisions possible as we strive to enrich our lives and the lives of those around us while simultaneously taking in account the health and wellness aspects of those choices.

To do this it is critical that we have timely and accurate information about our health and the options we have!

The information age brought with it tremendous access and, at the same time, the ability to respond to opportunities and risks a record speeds. The result: we have the opportunity to monitor healthcare quality, its actual impact on our health, and eliminate excessive cost, i.e., costs and health impact can be aligned – we can monitor and assess the impact of our health and wellness choices in real-time to determine the health and wellness value of our decisions! To respond to this opportunity,

KOS has developed and built a leading health care platform that powers and creates health and wellness value-based programs.

Leveraging advanced data analytics, technology, and also nationwide healthcare provider networks, our platform helps ensure the success of healthcare consumers, payors and providers through their participating in value-based care programs.

By activating the home as a key part of the care continuum, we lessen dependence on facilitycentric care, prevent costly adverse events, and facilitate holistic condition management across settings of care.

Our solutions align financial incentives around health outcomes. By engaging people where they are daily, we help them stay healthy and independent at home and support their recovery homeward as part of the episode of care. This helps our customers reduce costs, improve the quality of care, and foster better experiences for individuals, all while reducing financial risks and expanding opportunities to impactfully participate in health and wellness value-based programs.

Culture

Kos Inc. derives its name from that of third largest island of the Dodecanese and its healthcare mission is inspired by Hippocrates of Kos (c. 460 – c. 370 BC), a Greek physician who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. He is traditionally referred to as the “Father of Medicine” in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field, including the use of prognosis and clinical observation, the systematic categorization of diseases.

Kos Inc., or simply Kos, approaches the modern challenges of health and wellness, including quality of care and cost, by leveraging information technology, smart devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to bring health and wellness practice into the home and our daily activities. Our product observes and monitors our health continuously and informs our decisions and the care of our healthcare professionals. It contextualizes this information to help us, and our care givers, to better understand how health and disease express themselves and are experienced in our daily lives.

Kos views health and wellness outcomes in a multidimensional way, including dimensions of patient experience, treatment strategy and treatment efficiencies. These dimensions can be viewed as an array of treatment goals, states and actions, called the Kos Health and Wellness “Cube.” Patient activity, symptom monitoring and analytics are integrated.

Through the combination of wearable monitoring technology and AI/ML-enabled analysis in the context of daily activities, Kos enables its users to optimize outcomes against treatment and treatment costs.

Kos Health ‘Cube’
Kos, through the products it offers, is committed to improving healthcare outcomes and patient experience, growing the collaboration between us and our care givers, and decreasing the cost of health to all healthcare stakeholders.

For Doctors

Doctors, care givers, payors and patients are brought into closer collaboration through Kos technologies. Continuous monitoring of patient condition and analytics that learn how disease expresses itself in everyone can assist the physician in providing personalized and more effective and efficient treatment, enabling the treating physician to assess impact and patient compliance with treatment strategy to adjust treatment in real-time, including scheduling timely follow-up and adjusting treatment strategy.

Together with the expanding telemedicine, and enhanced engagement with and input from patient, the Kos doctor-patient ecosystem is more integrated, and doctors can respond more rapidly to evolving patient condition and treatment opportunities.

Doctors, physicians interested in more information can get more information by contacting Kos through phone or email (see Contact Us).

For Laboratories

Laboratories, either those engaged in medical or pharmaceutical or medical devices R&D or those providing laboratory services to doctors and clinics, can also benefit from the work done at Kos.
We presently have healthcare industry collaborators and are always interested in expanding and deepening these collaborations, with the goal of shortening elements of the healthcare treatment cycle or improving outcomes for patient, doctor and healthcare industry stakeholders.
Kos technologies, and its proprietary AI/ML-based data analytics, can assist in:

  • -treatment impact and efficiency
  • -enhancing patient experience
  • -illuminating treatment cost structures
  • -testing and validation of treatments, treatment strategies and technologies

For Pharmacy

Pharmacies, and the treatment components they provide to the patient, are a critical element of the overall treatment strategy. Their timely awareness of the doctor-proscribed pharmaceuticals, including characteristics and cost, is critical to treatment impact and success.
The Kos suite not only provides the patient-authorized physician access to the patient’s monitoring data and data analytics, but also assists the patient in scheduling and tracking appointments and allows the patient’s physician to enter scripts/prescriptions directly into the physician Kos interface.

In addition, using the Kos mobile or Web application:

  • the patient can configure his/her pharmacy preferences.
  • the doctor scripts/prescriptions can be directly passed on to the patient-configured pharmacy electronically and securely, and
  • the pharmacy can notify the patient, and the prescribing doctor if desired, of the status of the script, and
  • the pharmacy, or pharmacy delivery partner, can arrange for the delivery of the prescribed medications to the patient and even confirm delivery.

Kos is always interested in expanding and deepening collaborations with health partners, including pharmacies, with the goal of shortening elements of the healthcare treatment cycle or improving outcomes for patient, doctor, and healthcare industry stakeholders.
Pharmacies, and Pharmacy agents, interested in more information can contact Kos by navigating to the Contact Us page of this site.

Statistics

Disease variants, their severity and frequency, even how the diseases express themselves in different population groups, are difficult medical and statistical challenges. The disease data our institutions currently have is too small a dataset to draw statistically significant conclusions.
Kos innovation enables continuous learning over time and so results in a more and more reliable classification of symptom patterns, both in an individual patient and across patient populations. Then in-service learning and ML algorithms allow Kos to optimize and so guarantee continuously improving classification.
